Motivacion for success

Something that happens to all o f us

Today, I want to talk a little about motivation and personal development. Life is hard, and since the perspective of a third world country, it could seem harder. OK, I know that's a disappointing introduction but it is the truth, however another thing that is true, is that despite of the hard and painful moments, we also have amazing moments in our lives, no matter how bad your situation is,  if you think like that, you're going to find a lot of that moments.

One thing that is certain about us, is that we are the owners of our actions. We may not control the things that happen to us, however we do can control how we react to them. We, could also act in a way that, get us closer to achieve what we want, and even affect things that happen to us creating our own happenings. Taking Control of our destiny, and creating our own opportunities.

Of course that doesn't mean that if we act in the right way, all that's going to happen to us is going to be good. Not always things are going to turn out well, we could even be in several bad moments. But, if we don't do nothing, we won't deserve any good thing happen to us.

It is normal to have fear. It's natural, it's a way of preserve ourselves, but one thing is to have fear and other to be dominated by it. Because maybe by fearing that something bad could happen, or, that we couldn't achieve something good, we could be preventing that good thing from happening to us, or we may be even provoking that the thing that we fear becomes a reality.

You could probably wonder; how could that be possible? Just think for a moment. Haven't you been in a situation, for example a relationship, when you had feared to go on because you were afraid it wouldn't succeed? Or even to try something new in any aspect of your life because of the same fear? Aren't we provoking the same thing that we fear to happen, by acting like that? Because, yes, things could turn out well or bad, that's true, but if we don't act to achieve good things, the most probable is that we'd achieve bad things, or won't achieve nothing at all, and would depend on things just happen to us, or worse, we could be subject to others actions.

But if we try to achieve all the good things that we want for our live that make us happy, it is more probable that we achieve to get it. Things not just happen, if we believe we could achieve better things, in any matter, relationship, work, studies, we could be able to make it possible. But if we don't believe it ourselves we are condemning ourselves to failure.

I know that sometimes life could be hard and painful, and even unfair, but, What could we achieve by complaining ourselves and whining? it is hard, but that's precisely why we have to be stronger. If we are already in pain, we have then to climb out from misery to get something better, if we don't even try so, we're just going to stay there. And still be suffering.

We have to dare ourselves to be better, to be stronger, if we want something better to happen, or to improve ourselves, or any situation that are we dealing with, we must look for it and believe it.

Just Believe. No matter how hard it is, no matter if anybody else but you could see it. You just have to decide if you really want to succeed and deserve something good, but you have to go for it, and be willing to take the hits and continue ahead.

If you are not even trying to achieve it, you don't deserve it.

So, start acting like you deserve what you want, by doing anything that you can to achieve it. And yes complain about bad things, but don't stay there, just find other ways to continue your path. You only control what you do, and we can't control everything that happen to us, but we can be the masters of our actions, and create other paths to success.

Well that's all for now, remember: BELIEVE IT, TAKE ACTION, GO FOR IT.

Language learning? or, cultural Insighting

Different languages, different cultures

In my opinion, the comprehension of a new language not only permit us to learn new forms of communication, it is also an opening to a new culture and traditions. Once you begin to get further in the language learning, you also begin  understanding other ways of thinking and customs, that are expressed by the way we communicate with each other. There are little things and details that if we pay a little more attention we can discover about the difference between our native expressions and the ones with the new language. Like the way we call other person in a particular situation, and one begin to discover that some things doesn't even have a literal translation in another language, but we do understand their meaning.

When we start to get a more closer look of expressions and colloquialisms, the language learning also bring  us a whole new world of cultural and social behaviors and even values. For example somebody who's learning Japanese from Spanish will notice a lot of different formalism that are not used in his native language, the same would happen from English to french or Japanese, and many other examples. All of that is only in general, without counting with the particularities and  colloquialisms for a singular country or population. An example of this could be also the Spanish in Latinamerica, there are a lot of difference in the way we express ourselves in Venezuela, and the way people express in Colombia, we understand each other but also are aware of the many differences in the way we refer to things or people.

I was learning French last year, at the French Alliance that was nearby my home at that time. A thing that was interesting was, as they are a representation of France, they not only teach you about languages the traditional way, instead they also explain you the reason of many expressions and the cultural differences that are implied in the language. Adding to that, the capability of the teachers, who are all great, and the different resources and interactive activities, made it an amazing way to learn a new language. You get to feel more interested and more amazed every time, and you begin to understand why there are those differences in the way they talk or communicate with the world.

The difference on the formation of any language by the historical context, makes it impossible to learn well a new language, without taking care of the social and cultural aspects, that gives the language form and structure. If we take that aspect for granted, we won't be able to communicate with each other in a proper way, and even understand a lot of things that need a cultural immersion, to provide the actual importance of what is communicated.

Because of this, I believe that the learning of new languages and also to be able to have foreign teachers and interchange courses , is something that helps to achieve a better global perception for different cultures and regions, and create bridges between cultures otherwise isolated with each other.

I also believe this kind of experiences, not only helps individuals, but a proper integration between distant regions and a more healthy globalization in general, diminishing the shock created by the different cultures, and providing more tools for integration and comprehension of one and other.

Particularly, I would like to live those experiences, and use them to grow more as a more understanding human being, not only to others, but also taking in count that sometimes understanding other cultures, you are also more able to understand yours.

Well this was my humble opinion on that matter. The next post should be more interesting....
